My Travel Story
My Passion is Travel!
Travel has been more than a career for me—it has been a lifelong passion.
After graduating from the University of Saskatchewan with a degree in Political Science in 1987, I wasn't entirely sure what path I wanted to pursue. I decided to become a travel agent, planning to work and travel for a year before heading off to law school. More than 35 years later, I'm still in the travel industry—and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to travel to every continent in the world except Antarctica. From the energy of Piccadilly Circus in London and a donkey ride through Santorini, to the temples of Thailand, the deserts of Palm Springs, and the breathtaking Great Barrier Reef in Australia, I've experienced some of the world's most remarkable destinations. Most recently, I travelled to Japan, which quickly earned a place among my all-time favourite countries for its incredible culture, cuisine, history, and hospitality.
In April 2002, I fulfilled a dream by opening D&D Travel Ltd., including a five-year period operating as a Marlin Travel franchise from 2018 to 2023. Owning my own agency has been one of the most rewarding achievements of my life. I genuinely love helping clients create unforgettable travel experiences and look forward to discovering where their next adventure will take them.
My travel interests have evolved over the years, and today I specialize in European travel, ocean and river cruising, adventure travel, and group vacations. One of the most memorable experiences of my life was hiking the Lares Trek to Machu Picchu in Peru. I am also an avid cruiser, having completed two transatlantic crossings on different cruise lines, with another crossing already planned for next year.
Professional development has always been important to me. I graduated from the Transat Groups Academy in 2013, becoming a specialist in destination weddings, family reunions, incentive travel, and other group experiences. I later completed the Transat Cruise Academy, further expanding my expertise in ocean cruising, river cruising, and sailing vacations.
River cruising has become a particular passion of mine. My personal experiences include sailing the Danube through Europe, enjoying the magical Christmas Markets along the Rhine, and cruising the Mekong River from Cambodia to Vietnam. In 2015, I attended the Disney Training Academy in Orlando, gaining extensive knowledge of Disney destinations, resorts, dining, attractions, and vacation planning. Whether you're planning your first Disney vacation or your tenth, I can help you make the most of your experience.
Beyond travel, I am proud to be actively involved in my community. I served for more than seven years on the Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation Board, spent nearly a decade on the Black Tie Bingo Committee, and have been involved with the annual Golfun Tournament, helping raise funds for healthcare initiatives and MS research.
